Welcome to Miss J's Guide
Teaching is more than a job for me—it's a true passion. I have the honor of teaching the Deaf and guiding ballet students. My mission? To ignite a love for learning in students and teachers worldwide.
About Me
Hi, I’m Janaya Joyner—a sister, daughter, aunt, friend, and most importantly, a teacher. Being a teacher is one of my greatest passions. I’m not your ordinary teacher; I am a proud teacher of the Deaf as well as a ballet instructor. I’ve always loved learning, and not much has changed but the way I am able to do so. Now, I aim to inspire students worldwide to develop their own love for education in all aspects.
I’m a proud alumna of Lincoln University of Pennsylvania, the first HBCU to grant degrees, where I earned my Bachelor’s in English Liberal Arts. I also hold a Master’s in Deaf Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, the oldest higher education institution in New York and the fifth-oldest in the U.S.
With my years of education and teaching experience, I’m committed to shaping the future by nurturing young minds; in all aspects: Teaching and tutoring in American Sign Language, spoken tutoring in all subject areas as well as beginning level ballet classes.
Through Hands-on activities I can make learning more engaging, while physical reassurance, like hugs, builds strong connections. I look forward to helping kids and adults of all ages, continue to make the world a better place through education.
